The practice was formed to provide design and project administration services to our clients and industry peers. As a small studio and hands-on practitioners, concentrating on smaller projects allows us to directly engage the design process and examine details. Ideally, we prefer to provide a full service to the project from inception to construction completion; this way we can ensure the design intention is completed or adapted throughout the construction process.
A team of technical consultants is assembled, appropriate to the project needs. The team is encouraged to work through a collective approach to understand and develop all aspects of the design. Beginning at the preliminary design stage our clients are integrated into the team to establish their goals and programmatic requirements. Inherently, design is not a linear process and we anticipate all members of the team to be proactive in their engagement with the project. Through the schematic and design development stages multiple iterations of a design solution may be discussed before proceeding to the construction document stage.
If the team has been successfully integrated in the design stage construction documentation should flow efficiently with minimal conflicts. A cohesive set of construction documents will enable simplified bidding and negotiations, and ultimately a smoother, less problematic construction process. As a final part of the process we can establish maintenance guidelines for owners and occupants.
